Day after day, we hear that fish oil is good for the heart, the brain, the eyes, and even learning abilities. But how much truth is there to these claims? Does it really make us smarter? Is it enough to take it as a dietary supplement, or do the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish offer more benefits?

We’re seeing more and more omega-3 products on the shelves of stores and drugstores, but does it really matter which one we choose? What is backed by scientific evidence, and what is more a matter of marketing?

In this interactive, educational presentation, we’ll explore the world of omega-3 fatty acids together. We’ll learn about their most important types and sources, as well as the role they play in our bodies’ functioning – from fetal development through old age.

We’ll also discuss what current research tells us about the relationship between omega-3 fatty acids and the cardiovascular and nervous systems, development, and overall health.

During the presentation, participants will not only learn interesting scientific facts, but will also become active participants in the collective thinking process through quizzes, polls, and “myth-busting” questions. Together, we’ll find out which claims stand up to scientific scrutiny and which ones it’s time to rethink.
